This is one of a series of four 3D puzzles I worked on for Roseart in Indiana. It is modeled after the real house called the Gingerbread Mansion, a Victorian era "Painted Lady", in Ferndale, California. We visited the house to take measurements and photographs. I built a scale model of the house on the computer and coordinated with manufacturing on designing how the wall sections would be joined with various tabs and slots.
I used the photographs of the widows, doors, and woodwork, and made the shingle and siding patterns to create the flat art and layouts for printing and die cutting.
This particular rendering was made before the layout art was finished, and was used in the company's catalog.
AutoDesSys FormZ, Strata 3D Pro, and Adobe Photoshop were used.
